Trio Paternity Test

In a standard trio paternity test, samples are collected from the mother, a child, and alleged father.  The mother’s participation in the test helps to exclude half of the child’s DNA, leaving the other half for comparison with the alleged father’s DNA.   This test follows a Chain of Custody, which will provide you with a court admissible document that can be used for child support, custody, changing the name of the birth certificate, etc.

Motherless Paternity Test

A Motherless paternity test is performed when the mother is not included in a paternity DNA test.  The test results will provide a rate of inclusion of 99.99% and exclude the alleged father as the biological one by 100%

A Prenatal DNA Paternity test provides paternity answers during pregnancy.  Our technically-advanced, non-invasive test is AABB-accredited, accurate, can be performed as early as 7 weeks, and is completely safe for the mother and pregnancy.

Paternity Testing

You need a  Chain or legal paternity test if you want to use the report for child support and custody. Did you know results for a home paternity test are not court-admissible? For DNA results to be accepted, the court system requires that a specific chain-of-custody process be followed. No one has more experience with legal paternity testing than DDC, so you can trust us to get it right the first time.

There are different reasons to get paternity test for legal procedures like: child support and custody cases, birth certificate, immigration, adoption, tax forms, inheritance rights and more. The report is posted to your secure online account 1-2 business days once all samples are received at the lab. Need a paternity test before the baby is born? We provide a non-invasive prenatal paternity test or NIPP.

How long does it take to get paternity results?

All of our paternity tests are sent out FedEx 2-Day. Once the lab has received the specimen, it takes approximately 2 business days to process and receive results. If results are needed sooner, we offer a FedEx Express 1-Day delivery for an additional $100.

Express results are only offered for our Standard Trio Paternity, Motherless Paternity, & Maternity tests.

NIPP or Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity test is generally processed within 7 days after receipt of specimen.  We offer an expedited service that can shorten the time down to 3 days for an additional $400.

Baby’s gender is given free of charge with NIPP testing.

 

 

How do you collect the DNA samples for paternity testing?

Our Standard Trio & Motherless Paternity tests are done using a buccal swab. This is simply a collection of cells from the inside of your cheeks with a swab.  Several specimens are taken from two separate clients (ex: suspected father & child). The collection is painless and takes in total approximately 2-3 minutes to collect samples from each client. 

NIPP samples are collected by drawing a vile of blood from the expecting mother and a buccal swab from the father in question.
